Having owned logging truck's I converted in the winter to haul grain and lumber, I would never say a gas engine is going to pull like a diesel..... But the Ford f-150 does offer over 400 horsepower and over 400 ft pounds of torque.
The 1/2 ton label sure gets people riled up even if it has more horsepower/more payload/the same or better gvwr than some 3/4 tons not to mention the better ride.
