And then you've got some (again, not you) that say that limits given to TVs are arbitrary numbers assigned by lawyers and that it's fine to go over the maximums by whatever amount you think is okay. It makes you wonder how well they will be able to stop if their TT brakes aren't functioning very well.
Last season when towing with the F150, our stopping distances were very very long. I know the TT brakes work and the camper was brand new. I am pretty sure that I had my brake controller set way too low (+1.5). It didn't help that we were above MGVWR by about 500 lbs. I was brand new to towing and just assumed my stopping distances would be very long. How much more stopping distance is acceptable?
