TT with 3 bunks for kids

I am in the market for a TT with 3 bunks in the back, preferably two on one side and one across. Also trying to keep it to 27 feet or less. I have seen the Spree 240BHS and like the space and layout there but does anyone know of others? Usually the bunkhouse units have either the 2 beds or the 4 and having 4 tends to make the units longer. Queen size bed for the adults is also a must but almost all have that already.

  • There are some models I've seen that have a quad bunk setup in the front with a queen rear slide. The main tradeoff on those models is no side slide, which may or may not matter to you.

Most of the triple bunk models are three stacked on top of each other. My fifth wheel has that setup and it's a little tight in that bottom bunk. Length and width are fine but there's not much headroom, although I can fit in it okay (6' and 160 lbs).
  • Came across this in my research. Its a little to heavy for me but the Sonic SN234VBH has 3 bunks in the back. Under the 1 bunk side is a dinette.
Perfect for kids to hang out.

  • It's not a hard and fast rule. It's my first trailer and first time towing so would rather keep it as small as possible.
  • I have shopped for this configuration before.

But first, is the 27ft the max box size or bumper to ball max?
  • Thanks for all of the suggestions and posts. I have also come across the Lance 2185 which also has the three bunks across the back. I think that would be fine but will need to see one in person to make sure the kids aren't claustrophobic.
  • I have the NorthTrail Focus edition FX235. It has 3 bunks but all on top of each other. They do not make this floor plan anymore but there are still new old stock out there. We really like ours. Right at 27.5 feet and pulls really nice. Mine is lifted with larger tires for boon docking deep in the colorado rockies.

Our 2008 non slide KZ Spree 240BH-LX measured 26' 9" coupler to bumper and typically averaged 5500 lbs loaded and ready to camp with an average gross tongue weight of 750 lbs ... the current slide version Spree 240BHS is another 18' longer and noticably heavier. We owned ours for 6 years and although I did remove the middle bunk as we had no need for it friends of ours who owned a 2011 240BHS also found this particular model to be a great triple bunk bed family camper. We only eventually sold ours as our boys no longer camp with us and IMO you couldn't go wrong with one. :B
  • Many 28' C's will accomodate that number of people nicely but not in the exact configuration that you stated.

Mine has: Queen in back, double over the cab and odd sized fold downs on either side.

Having said that, mine has no slide-outs and would be VERY cramped for 5 people.....unless they stayed outside all the time except to sleep and go to the bathroom.....and while riding down the road buckled in.
