TT with King Size Bed

Yes, we want a "home" mattress!

One thing, if you resize a Q to K make sure the King will fit in the door! Ours has a Queen and we bought a Carolina Mattress from Sleepys and it is solid godd for sleeping compared to Camper Cheapos.

If you're thinking HTT, they're wonderful, but you won't find one with a king bed. Our ROO 23SS had 2 queens....DH is 6'3 and DS#1 is 6'4+ and they had no complaints. DS sleeps sorta corner to corner anyway. With the sides being soft, it's not like hitting a hard wall. While there may be a HTT out there with a BH, I don't know what it would be. If you need that much room, suggest you look at a 3 bunk model...ROO 233S. Bathrooms in HTT tend to be functional and that's about it. If you have seen the "expandable" rear slide - NOT to be confused with a HTT with canvas bunkends - there are some with a king slide and BH forward. You're going to be limited and likely have to make come concessions based on your weight. You'll note that the further the thread goes, the larger models will be mentioned. Before you get excited about anything, suggest you do your homework getting exact specs for your truck, allow about 1000# wiggle room and then start looking. Also forget dry weight as that's a totally useless #. GVWR and CCC are what matters.

In the interest of saving gas and mileage, suggest you go online to RVWholesalers and/or DRDirect and spend some time looking over floorplans and specs. If the trailer is more than your towable specs, forget it or plan to change tow vehicles. When you find something that looks interesting AND fits the specs, then start a search for those in your area. If RVW or RVD happens to sell that model, both offer outstanding prices and are very reputable. Both of our trailers came from RVW and can recommend them highly.

Rule #1 - never trust what a salesman will assure you is a perfect trailer and "sure, you can tow that no problem". Rule #2 - specs and your safety is top priority over that 30' beauty that someone just recommended and is 3000# over what you should be towing. Scratch it off your list.

Good luck with your search. You'll find the right one, with maybe a couple of concessions.

Depending on your definition of bunk room/space, my TT floorplan meets that. My exact model doesn't have the longer bed, but I've been okay with it for 4 years and 6'4". There are competitors with 80" long beds like Keystone Passport 2810 for example.

Honestly getting in and out of the bed isn't really an issue, it's very easy. There's more room than you expect.

Pretty much anything with a king bed is usually a rear slide unit like many mentioned above and like our Kodiak 240KSSL.

The slide is hard just like the rest of the TT so it is not a hybrid and would be safe in bear country. The bed is not that bad to get in and out of, especially if the set up is like ours where your head is towards the back of the trailer and feet in towards the trailer. I'm 6ft and its plenty of room with lots of sideways space. The only issue is the front bunks are not a bunk house, but do offer an area to hook up another TV. The bathroom isn't huge but works OK for 4 of us.

I like the idea but I can't imagine climbing in and out of that bed.

We have twin beds on our camper and a king size at home. The twins provide the `personal space' as well or better than the king.

My TT isn't for everyone, but does meet your requirements. It's an Outback Terrain 2650trs. The bathroom isn't very big, but it is useable, and the shower would be tall enough for you. The bunkhouse area is very spacious, and would be the perfect getaway for your daughter, her whole own area for a tv, bed, and all her stuff, even room if she brings friends.

Another option is an Aerolite 250kbhs. King bed with a small bunk room.
