TT with King Size Bed

Hello Everyone!

Well, I have successfully demonstrated to my wife and daughter trailer camping is FUN. I render a hybrid trailer first then a motor home (just for sh** and giggles).

We were able to identify several key items we need in a camper we plan top purchase.

1.) King size bed. Queen will be OK for weekend trips, but long term plan is cross country and a queen wont cut it.

2.) Beds that are "normal" length! I am a "normal" 6' tall and neither the hybrid or motor home had beds or pull outs to accommodate a normal height man.

3.) A "usable" bathroom. The hybrid bathroom was only good for my 9 year old daughter. A teenager or above was out of luck to use it. It was too small. The motor home was better - but they placed the toilet against a wall so you lean to your left during the entire operation. DUH???

4.) A bunk house with space for children entertainment area. As the little gets older she will want her space.

Is there such a dream TT out there????

OH, weight about 6000 - 7000 lbs.

Any recommendations?

Cheers from Maryland!

  • Friends of ours just bought a new Keystone TT. They are going re-size the bed's plywood (or OSB) to take a king size mattress. Their trailer does not have the usual side tables that sit on the floor either side of the bed and instead there is just carpet. They've got lots of room to add a few inches of width and length without compromising anything. Perhaps you could look at a Keystone or other brand that has just carpet (or lino) either side of the bed and modify it for a king mattress.
  • 2014 Keystone Sprinter Wide Body 278BH is a 2 slide bunkhouse. Two entry doors, king size bed, good size bathroom and a nice bunkbed layout. It will be slightly over the 7k weight range.
  • Thanks Lawrosa. Saw the jayco. I was hoping for a hardsided TT so I can take it into bear country. Thanks for the suggestion.
