I can't help in your search but I also like the Murphy bed concept. I understand and agree with your reasoning.
I am currently gutting my toy hauler and building a new interior. It will have a Murphy bed that comes down over a couch. In my case the advantage is low cost and I keep the boondocking capabilities of large tanks, large cargo capacity, and a built in generator. And I get it all at a National Park friendly length.
There is no significant gain to a curved or slanted front. Buy the model that best suits your needs. A difference of .5 mpg is meaningless.
