What have you been driving up to this point? You will have an idea, from the size of your current and past tow vehicles, of what size vehicle you like.
That said, most people can adjust to a different size vehicle with a few weeks of use. One grows accustomed to the new feel after a bit.
I test drove the Ridgeline before I bought my Highlander. I have enjoyed the HL greatly and have towed 2500-3500 lbs with it for well over 100k miles (both work and play). The Ridgeline seemed (my impression) to hunt for the right gear too much when driving trailerless, so I didn't think I would like it with a trailer. Otherwise it seemed good.
I am wondering why you seem to have discarded the Tacoma as a candidate? It has a higher tow rating (6400 lb vs 5000 lb) and a little more torque than the Ridgeline. Just a thought.
