TV & TT combination opnions please

Hi all,
I would sure love experienced rv'ers valuable opnions. I have narrowed down our TT potential purchase to 2 or 3 different units, and am thinking seriously about the Lance 1885, especially since I found that I can order it with the glass shower as an option.
My TV is a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited? It has a 290 hp v-6, 4WD, and has the factory installed tow pkg. According to the owners manual, it is rated to tow a maximum 6,200 lbs with a max. Tongue weight max. of 620 lbs. Yellow door sticker says max passenger and cargo weight of 1,059 lbs. looking at the specs. of the 1885, it looks like I am well below the maximums, which is where I want to be. Of course I will purchase an appropriate WD hitch. Since there is only the two of us old folks using this rv I don't see us loading it up with a lot of unnecessary stuff. Am I missing anything, and does this sound like a reasonably safe combination?
Thanks in advance for your opinions
Steve
  • I agree, you're weights should all be fine...(btw...I've got the similar model from Chalet, Takena 1865EX)
  • The gvrw of the Lance is below your max towing, and hitch weight is also within limits. The pentastar V6 in those grand Cherokees are really strong engines. I would be comfortable with that combo.

Good choice on the Lance, they're nice units.
  • Yes you should be fine with that combination. Get a good WD hitch with integral sway control to be extra safe. The JGC is a very capable tow vehicle. But the short wheelbase dictates a shorter TT, and the 1885 is perfect for it IMHO.
