If you unscrew the tv cable fitting at the antenna head, you can remove the antenna head from the lifting arms of the Winegard crank up.
I am not sure how the other brands are installed but unscrewing the TV cable and securing it out of the way will make it availble for future use.
The cable carries the 12 power to the antenna head so it should be insulated from the roof and the 12 volt source disconnected or turned off.
The center conductor of the TV cable is the positive side the cable shield is typically ground. In the Winegard units the power to the antenna usually has an on-off push button on a small control panel.
