TV suggestions

Got a call from the manufacturer and thus made a final decision: we'll be getting a wet bathroom retractable roof Alto 1723 R:

Now comes the TV need.

These are our local parameters based on storage and life style. A truck of any sort doesn't fit for us here.

The man is googly-eyed over some of Road Ranger's offerings but I have issues with the line's mpg, resale value AND towing abilities. Somehow I think he's having a name game moment; still love him.

I'm looking for a low maintenance vehicle with an engine that won't take us into white knuckle land going up hill. That's comfy for up to 3 people, possibly 4. That easily fits into an urban and road life and has a nice amount of storage (5 door?) for whatever usage. The highest mpg available.

TIA!

While this is true of the automatic trans Subarus, not all Subarus are auto-trans, so not all Subarus are CVT.
  • Something with a real transmission, not a CVT.
    Subarus are CVT.

For a while, the 3.6R was still auto trans, but I think it went CVT in 2015 with the Outback redesign.
  • Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot. Both will handle that tt easily, with comfort and decent fuel mileage and reliability to boot.
  • My vote is a 2017 Subaru Outback - The 2.5i Outback has a maximum towing capacity of 2,700 lbs, while the 3.6R Outback can haul 3,000 lbs. You have an adequate TV while still having a road car for normal driving. The 3.6 engine will work well on most hills. Now if you want to go 65 mph up Pikes Peak you better opt for a diesel pusher.
