Can't understand why the majors (Lance, Arctic Fox, etc) can't build a camper with a U-shaped dinette or "wrap around". Our old Lance 880 has this feature & we love it. We like sitting & stretching out our legs & looking out the window when the weather is bad, (when its to wet or cold to sit outside). The 1181 or the 1191 Lance are to big & heavy. Lance won't build it for the 1050S or either will AF on any of there models. Whats up with this? just cut the table down, use two pedestals for legs & put a cushion across the back & call it a day (& charge out several hundred $$$ for a option). I guess this narrows it down to the Eagle Cap TC they list it as an option for there models! I'm a little concerned about there issue's some are having with cracked slides, delaminations under the front nose, etc. Lance also seems to be having a lot of issues also lately, I pretty much had ruled them out. But I think I would have gone with the new Arctic Fox, (like what they have done to the front nose) & I think that over all they have the best quality & customer satisfaction IMO.I like the 992 AF or 995 EC with a rear kitchen, anybody know if one can add or change out the dinette in a AF to make it a wraparound? To bad AF won't change some of there floor plans, its a long over due IMO. I know this probably seems like a small issue to some but I won't lay out the $$$$ for a new one without it! What's your thoughts on this?

I agree 100% . My DW stepped inside a used lance 1181 and fell in love with the layout. We have come to the conclusion that we are going to have to buy a bigger camper than we originally intended so we can get the options we feel we want, or why bother upgrading.

Having switched from a regular dinette camper to now a U dinette (EC 995), the U is a great compromise short of having a double slide with rear sofa. Extra storage space in cabinet (optional) beneath center section too.

Buy the TC you like the best and make your own conversion. That's what I did. Any standard dinette can be made into a U shaped couch with a little labor and a few hundred bucks, and probably have a better job than what most factories could give you.

Yes Eagle Cap offers U Dinette as an option on all models. For two, it is a great idea. For seating more than that the dream dinette will give a bit more legroom/table area.The DD, obviously, is much easier to make into a bed (if that matters to you).We are very pleased so far with our new Eagle Cap.B

This would likely result in higher overall costs for a manufacturer- and you know who ends up paying for that.I can think of several things that I wish was different on our TC, but it could be that few if any would want the same changes. Personal preferences can be very unique.BTW, you mention problems that certain TC factories have with delamination and other aspects. Keep in mind that these are relatively few compared to all the units out there that are trouble free. Remember that we only read about the problem units.If we started a "who's camper is delaminating and who's isn't" thread, it would be many pages and a HUGE percentage would be happy campers.No one typically starts a "my TC isn't delaminating" thread.All IMHO.

A local dealer told us that they can install a U dinette in almost any rig with a super slide as these allow for enough room for the larger U dinette. Told us it isn't an option on many but they could do it.

Adventure has several U shaped dinette models. I can't speak for all of the models that do have the U shaped dinette, but the 86SBS has a rather large outdoor storage compartment under the dinette. One of their U shaped dinette models comes with a king size bed.

I had a Okanagan db 96 that had a booth , I regreted not buying the 106 model with the u shaped dinette every time I tried to relax and watch tv
When I bought the lance 500 I have now the problem was to large a table and the support was all the way against the cushion, couldnt get my legs around it to lay down
I made a smaller table to that still slides in and out and moved the pedistal away from the cushion so I can get my legs up on the center of the dinette to lay down. I hinged the post brace so I can drop it down out of the way
Works well , at least until I can afford and find a TC with a recliner in it

We stopped by our Lance dealer last week to pick something up. Of course, while there we had to peek our heads into the camper line-up. To us, it appeared almost every model had the U-shaped dinette (on the larger campers).

I could be wrong, but I believe you can order some of the floor plans with either the booth, or the u-shaped dinette.

My AF came with the standard dinette. I removed the factory table and made two individual tables, smaller in size, but by putting them together I can still keep the full dinette table option if I want it. The cushions can be made by the same manufacturer that makes them for the factory. I just contacted them and gave them the sizes that I needed and they still had some of the original factory pattern material. They new AF TCs do use a different standard table mount bracket so you would have to come up with a way to make it work. Ive posted pics several times on this site but dont want to be redundant. When we bought our 1181 there was an option for a U Shaped Dinette but the darn thing was a white pleatherish material. Seriously, white in my camper would last about two trips before it would need to be reupholstered. We have been wanting to replace the standard dinette ever since just haven't got around to it. Maybe this year!!
