Uber expensive pickups...how much of a trend ?

I’ve bought four trucks since 1982 and each had doubled in price to the previous one. None of my trucks have been fancy, but they are capable within their class. Each of my trucks had more capacity than the previous, so it not like a F150 costs eight fold in 33 years...
