My '09 cracked on the drivers side last year, and then cracked on the passenger this spring.
Like OP, I looked up on google and was surprised how many complaints about the cracked dashes.
There are postings on various GM truck sites that GM partially paid to replace the dashes for some.
I contacted them and they shot me down saying there were too many miles on the truck. My response was "What difference does mileage make, it is the age."
I let them know that I am shopping for a new 3500 dually diesel and it will not be a GM product.
