Hmmm. This surprises me. I don't think I have seen a cracked dashboard on a vehicle in the past 15-20 years! Growing up in south Alabama, I saw plenty in the 70's, 80's and maybe early 90's but though material engineering (UV inhibitors, etc.) had all but eliminated this problem. I used Amor-All, etc. on the dash to keep it moisturized. Still use it for appearance rather than protection and a sunshade to keep the heat out.
