This is a design flaw on these trucks. It's in how the center of the dash is mounted. It has zero to do with sun exposure. GM didn't want to help me, either. It's probably a $700 to $1k job if you go to a dealer. I priced out a replacement dash at one point and it wasn't too expensive but I didn't want to take apart the entire dash to make the repair. My plan some day is to repair the mounting point so the dash doesn't flop around anymore, but I won't bother with the cosmetic aspect.
