Unbelievable find

Sometimes you run across something you just have to buy even if your not looking. Ran across this in a small town.
1995 Chevy 2500, 4 wheel drive, extended cab, 8 ft bed, 6.5 turbo diesel. Owned by volunteer fire department since new. 41K miles. like new. $3000 obo.
I pick it up Wed.

  • I drove one of those when they were new.
To this day it was the only stock diesel truck I have ever driven that could put down two patches of rubber off the line. It was a great sounding engine too.
However, they proved to have some real weak spots in their reliability over the long haul. They can be made better but it's costly.
For 3K I'd buy it and run it until it breaks.
  • That is not unusual, fire departments normally don't put a lot of miles on vehicles although it may have spent a lot of time running a pump or generator off a pto. It was also likely meticulously maintained, those guys can't afford break downs.
  • 22 year old truck with 41,000 miles, I was born a night but not last night..

come back after you purchase and inform us what happen. Dont be shy tell us the truth... were all camping family

I will post pics after I pick it up. 3 hr drive each way to get it. Bought from my brothers local fire dept and he has known the truck for the past 10 years. Not sure what im going to do with it yet. Just couldn't pass it by.
  • Wow....and it was probably parked inside a garage the whole time.
Now, go buy a lottery ticket.
