Unbelievable

Just upgraded our stabilizers to the 5000lb scissor jacks. My surprise after pulling our stock single arm stabilizers was the sticker on the bottom of them. For tent trailers! This was installed by cruiser on a 30fter. No wonder we shook so darn bad!!
  • I'm surprised their Quality Control didn't catch that mistake. :R
  • My TT had the lightest stabs Elkhart could find as well, I think they were rated for 250-500 lbs? After they rusted solid, I replaced with 5000 lbs rated jacks instead.

Any corner Elkhart can cut, they will, doesn't matter how fancy or plain the rig.
  • My trailer didn't come with any stabilizer jacks.. I used those individual screw type jacks for 2 years!

Then, I got those #5000 BAL scissor jacks for the 4 corners and have not looked back since... :)

I use my 19v Craftsman drill with a 3/4 socket on it to run them down/up and they stabilize pretty darn good!

    Live and learn!

Well... that's why the eye roll was added.
  • The single arm BAL stabs on our hybrid were much more stable than the electric Lippert stabs on our previous TT. And also more stable than the scissor jacks we now have.

I bet all QC did was check to see if the jacks were welded or bolted on properly. QC probably has no idea which jacks were to be used.
