2000 lb tow capacity is nothing, when you're talking about travel trailers. You're going to loose a big portion of that when you load people and cargo.
Every pound of poeple, pets, car seats, coolers, and luggage, etc, inside or on top of the vehicle, takes a pound away from that 2000 lb tow capacity, and it takes an equal amount of weight capacity away from the payload.
Your actual (or usable) payload and max tow capacity is what is left after you subtract the weight of everything and everybody, you plan to have in or on the vehicle.
If your family and cargo weigh 600 lbs, your max tow capacity would be 1400 lbs.
