Gosh, I hate to be discouraging, but -- since you live in Alberta, you are going to want to go to the Rockies. With the Jeep, I would worry not so much about the engine as the transmission and the brakes on long downhill stretches. The good news is that the highways through the Rockies tend to follow the river valleys and are less steep than typical mountains roads would be; but still, better safe than sorry.
So that's the bad news. The good news is that you live in Camping Heaven. It takes us more than a week of driving to get to your neighborhood, but we have done it a few times, and we are going to do it again.
