What ever you decide. Do not negotiate with a dealer!
You need to research what you want and the prices it is being sold for and you need to get an out the door price.
To many dealers give you a price and then find things to charge you for such as Predelivery inspection, Added fee for registration of trailer, and anything else they can think of. So out the door
The way I do it is;
Write my name, address and phone number on a 3x5 card. Go into the dealer and state " I want to buy this trailer, I am not here to dicker, I am ready to buy and will pay you $______ for this trailer OUT THE DOOR BY this I mean tax, title, registration and any other fees you can dream up are included in my offer price and I will not pay one penny more.
I will wait right here while you see whoever you need to. Be aware I will not dicker this is my offer. If you come back with other than a yes I am leaving.
If your answer is yes I am willing to give you a deposit but I will not pay the balance until AFTER I inspect the unit and all items are working to my satisfaction (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
Ask the salesman if he understands because he may not be really hearing what you are saying. He is hearing he has a possible fish on the hook and how is he going to reel you in.
Lastly remember the salesman IS NOT your friend you are how he feeds his family.
BTW I think $20,500 out the door is a fair price for the unit which seems to have a MSRP $30,000 (which is a made up number and can vary from dealer to dealer on the exact same unit).
The equalizer hitch is a seperate item and you did not tell us what they want to sell you for $750.00
