Another consideration that has only been briefly mentioned here... most RV's, especially lower end ones like that Jayco, are NOT designed for extended living. Materials are lightweight and inexpensive and designed for occasional use. Living full time will create a LOT of wear and tear.
If this is a route you are serious about exploring, you should look at campers that are designed for extended living. They tend to be more expensive and heavier. For a smaller trailer in the sub 25' range, your half ton should be able to handle it.
