What ever you do, wear a dust mask at all times. The rotting wood and moldy insulation can be toxic to your health.

I'd never undertake a project like that. I'd landfill it. Don't have the time nor the fortitude to do that.

Do not use .40 retention pressure treated wood for a replacement. It's tempting but .40 retention pt wood contains toxic chemicals.

I suspect many. many rv's, not just TC's are rotting away quietly, especially the roofs.
