I agree with your findings. The 6-spd trans really helps the 6.0L. I love mine. It tows my (relatively light) TT at 65-75mph getting 8-10mpg, mostly in 5th gear. Unloaded, we are getting about 14mpg mixed driving. 250 mile day trip excursion last weekend showed 20mpg @ 65mph. Not bad for 7200 pounds of truck and stuff.
