RV show sales are sometimes high pressure sales environment, making it too easy to be sold something that is not quite what you wanted, and maybe not at the best price, though prices at large shows are pretty good from most of the dealers present, particularly if they are getting factory incentive discounts.
I find shows are great places to learn, to see and compare a lot of different things, to see what is new. At large shows I try to find the factory representitives, often district or regional sales managers, because they can help me with what they might have that is not at the show, and find it within various dealers' inventory or inbound deliveries. Most dealers at a show will sell you anything in their inventory, and maybe even order for you, at "show price" since they can bring only a small part of their inventory in most cases; show space is expensive.
