UPDATE: taking the plunge. F-150 spark plug change

Loosening has a potential 'break away' snap or shock loading on the instrument (torque wrench)

Similar to dropping the instrument

That break away torque has little to do with what it was torqued to.

Like a bit of rust, dirt, etc. Or just plain old time held together will have
micro welds of the two mating surfaces
