Thanks for your explanation, very helpful and insightful.
I dislike dealing with canvas, and really disliked schlepping the TT around (though once parked it is really nice as you mentioned). The truck camper was VERY convenient, but very cramped inside (two adults, also lifting the 50lb dog in and out got old). Due to more manufacturers being in the game, new hard-side a frames can be had for 2/3 of the previous cost, making it tempting to try out.
I can just see winding up with two rigs. TT so DW participates, hard side pup for convenient glamping.
