There is no evidence to suggest Maxxis are best .
There are several threads relating to Maxxis failures .
Maxxis is a recent brand and has sold only 10 % of the ST tires that Goodyear , or Carlisle or the other mainstream brands .
What matters most is the load weight capacity in pounds as tated on the sidewall .
If you have Load Range C tire that has 1820 # capacity and can upgrade to a load range D or better yet a load range E tire you can get up to 2500 # and 2800# capacity weight rating .
If you have 205/75 and have the room to go to a 225/75 that is another way to improve the load capacity.
Load Capacity of the tire gives you additional reserve .
Your ability to carry extra weight will still be limited by the axle capacity .
Most steel RV wheels are fine for 80 psi .
There has not been a catastrophic wheel failure reported due to higher inflation pressure in a steel RV wheel on this forum .
An load rated E tire can lose the pressure down to 50 psi and still be as safe as the load range C tire that started at the 50 psi limit .
Interesting…
I would like to know where you got your percentages from???
or are they just something that came to you in your sleep…
assuming that’s not what happened and you are in the know, just what is the market share for Good Year???
also for Carlisle???
What about the hundreds of no name backdoor mfg.’s, and private label tires???
Carlisle and Goodyear have market share that far exceeds anything the "Mx" brand could hope for.
Here is another gustimate for you-go in to any franchise tire shop and ask them what brands they carry. They will carry Goodyear or Carlisle or Towmax (or any combination). The "Mx" brand they will have to order. It takes anywhere from a day or two to a week.
