Like all things great small and equal, brakes are like tires, some get as little as 25K out of brakes, others 150K like I did with my 3500 dually. I've gotten 25K out of fronts doing ALL city type driving with an auto, 50-75K with the same basic truck doing both city and hiway and an E-manual trans to engine brake with. With double the mileage with rears.
So three years, depending upon miles, type of driving, I can see that happening, to the OP not liking what he has, does not need to change out brakes per say, to the "I WANT" to change out brakes.......
