Just a quick update per the comments. I am not new to camping or the camper scene. I have owned my current popup since 2000 and camp often, so I know my usage if anything will go up with the TT per the ease of setup, packing, etc.
As for the kids thinking Dad is uncool; while that may be true, it won't impact their desire to camp with or as a family. We spend much time in the outdoors and these kids are well versed. They love the outdoors as similar to what I did as a kid which continues today. This for me is critical as I don't want my kids to be those glued to video games, but also have real world experience and equally as important to understand what life and the world is all about. In that regard, my father was the same way which is what gave me my love for the outdoors.
So, where my camping experience is vast, it is directed more towards remote locations, dry camping and not necessarily campgrounds or formality of these nice rigs. So, the culture, or experience of those in your position who have modest sized TT's I believe will help me in understanding what "your" usage is, and how you are impacted by the limitations of a full sized rig. Items like how often you dry camp, where you go, if you are limited by anything less than a well graded road, etc?
