The expeditionary vehicles: Global Expedition Vehicles, Tiger, Earthroamer, etc. do it all the time and I'm not sure how or what it takes for the individual to accomplish it. They routinely convert a dually into a SRW and maintain the same payload capability with 20" mil spec wheels and tires.
I just mention this because you seem like you want dually payload with a SRW and I've never seen anybody do it except for these type of companies.
