Oh well, another filter for me on the value 'to me' on advice based on CR...
What issue was this "praising report" for Toyota? Do you have a month and year? Maybe I missed it. You can keep buying things based on your own "preferences", its your money after all. Just be specific about your gripes without confusing Consumer Reports with Consumer Guide and maybe your arguments would hold more weight. - BenKExplorerCR praised a Toyota...then outed that they didn't actually test it...they finally

CR has been fairly reliable since the 1930's. Use it or don't. Maybe some of its bashers can be specific about what they don't like in their review process.
Reliable! In your dreams! CR is notorious for pandering to the ones that pay the most for afvertising.
Their reviews are always biased. Ask people who own not those that wish they did.
My Dodge, while not a,new Ram has been totally reliable. Times in the shop? Recalls for software updates. Far fewer of those than the heavily praised Toyota or Honda. If you really want to know, look at a,dealerships service department pays and count the number of vehicles in there. Geeze get a life!
What don't you understand about CR?? They don't look at one vehicle, they look at a huge collection of vehicles. You may have had great luck with yours. As mentioned already CR doesn't accept any advertising. Be SPECIFIC about some "bias you've seen. I bet you can't. And I have a wonderful life by the way... - drsteveExplorer

Actually they are well known for accepting NO advertising of any kind. - Grit_dogTrailblazerWorks for me. Hope Ram/Dodge stays there. Maybe be able to keep buying them a bit cheaper than the competition......

Yet these same people will stir the pot about the other brands and not even think twice about it.
Double standard anyone? - Fresno_Tundra_DExplorer

I think of these reports a lot like consumer reports and their ilk. I do agree with Lexus as my wife's 2001 has been a tank, and I can't get her to sell it. All around cars are getting better, but you have to research the individual models versus just a brand name.
How dare you say anything negative about Dodge!! I find it funny how some will pick and choose the info they believe and criticize the rest. CR never recommended the Matador, LOL, that was Consumer Guide back in the 1970's!!!! CR has been fairly reliable since the 1930's. Use it or don't. Maybe some of its bashers can be specific about what they don't like in their review process. - BenKExplorerAh...Consumer Reports...of course will not even take the info with a grain of salt...
CS is okay for kitchen stuff...even their high end stereo stuff isn't good enough
for me...
Take a look at who fills out their survey's...their own customers and use this
as an example all the time (have to, too often)...
Was already going to no renew my CS subscription, as all of their recommendations
didn't come close to what my preferences were...
One year they rated the Matador as their #1 choice and their customers bought
in droves...and the next couple years...these same members of their herd rated
the Matador as the worst ever...
Nope, not my kind of survey...nor results... - Perrysburg_DodgExplorerIf Automotive News is using Consumer Report's for their data than IMO they can wipe their backside with it. CR is a joke at least when it comes to Autos, hell I wouldn't use them if we were buying a washing machine.
