These are my opinions and I don't want to start an argument with anyone.
All FCA (Chrysler) vehicles (including Jeep) have developed a bad reputation for electrical problems after they are about 5 years old. This problem is much worse for vehicle that get driven in the "rust belt". If you are looking for a vehicle that will last many years, stay away from RAM. The Cummings engines are great !
Second, unless you are frequently hauling heavy loads AND drive 50,000 mile per year, the additional cost of a diesel (initial purchase price, fuel, DEF and oil changes) does not justify the investment !
