Just a thought Rob (OP). A new Ford F350 crew cab with 7.3 gas, 10-speed, and 4.30 gears, would be about same price as 1-2 year old diesel. The Ford crew cab has a 48 gal gas tank. I think you would get a noticeable improvement in mpg, towing or empty.
