OP: I have owned an '05 Ram 3500 bought used for 9 years. Won't get into the who has the better powertrain fray. That said, Unless Ram has changed things on the Ram over time like door gaskets that don't leak in heavy rain down the A posts, roof marker lights that don't leak, quirky electrical system, HVAC system blend doors that break in blink of an eye, there is some truth to the 'Ram is a shipping crate for a good powertrain' joke. And the stuff I mention are items that will....nickel dime you to death. Just sayin'
And a word about the Ram's A post. It is shocking how much of a forward blind spot that creates at roughly 10 & 2 position when driving. My opinion and experience, others may differ.
