Using truck camper when not attached to truck

I recently bought a 1985 sun lite truck camper. I want to be able to take it out of my truck when i get to where I am going and use it when its out of the truck. This particular camper only has three jacks two on one side in the corners and 1 on the other side dead in the middle. I more asking if anyone has any ideas on what i could build or do to set it down on that would make it sturdy enough to stay in.
  • 3/4" plywood "X-stands." Just take a 4x8 sheet of plywood, cut into four 24"x48" pieces. Cut half-slots in them so they fit together to form an X. Stores flat under the camper, takes up no space traveling. The boards and jacks described above need storage space.
  • And carry with you?
2 sheets of plywood. 1 ripped in half and notched to make a 2’ tall X frame and another sheet to put on top of the X.

That will hold the weight (on hard ground and fairly flat/level) as long as your jacks can provide the stability.

Aluminum stack jacks with a 2X6 or 2X4 across the front and back jacks...They are rated for a lot of weight..

Saw a guy unload his 10ft camper to haul out his elk to a cooler and did just that, while the wife/dog and kids ran in and out of the camper while he was gone.Looked very sturdy as well and he carried it all in his TC without a trailer.

    Impressive
