I personally would not put anyone in my camper to sleep unless they could use the bathroom. Especially older persons who may need the bathroom more frequently. I'm not sure it's safe to ask them to walk back and forth after dark. If something happened, I would feel terrible.
I can't say that I would fully agree about being not safe for older persons to walk back and forth at night.. In fact I see it happen a lot at CAMPGROUNDS..
I have had "guests" stay in my TT with the only request is they do not use the TT facilities. My TT back door is parked a mere 20ft from my home front door. We leave the house side light on and the front porch light on and inside the house we leave the range hood light on.. Pretty "safe" and so far no "guests" have had any issue with that.
Our guests often like the "privacy" they get since they do not disturb us and we don't disturb them, pretty nice.
They often remark the mattresses we have in out TT are more comfortable than their own (memory foam mattresses we had custom made).. So far they have not overstayed their welcome.
