The F-250 will work well with a travel trailer, yet with a fifth wheel, the F-350 will handle the 2,000 - 2,500 pound hitch weight much better.
I have a older 97 class A motorhome with a 460" V8, it only gets 7 MPG, and the next year they replaced the 460" 7.5L with the V10 6.8L. I am happy I have the old and very proven motor, not the "New" V10, that in it's early years had problems once the owners started replacing the spark plugs.
I am happy I bought a gas engine, the maintenance is much less than a diesel, and quiet too.
Fred.
