Vent cover vs Hail Storm

Had a hail storm the other evening, now need to replace roof vent cover. I have a Nash TT and was wondering if anyone with A Nash has had to replace a cover, if so where did you get your cover, are they all the same except for size?

Thank you
  • I have a Nash 26X and replaced them this week, and no, not all vents are the same.

Most likely it's a Ventline vent. And Ventline makes two covers with two different styles of hinges on their vent lids. One is metal and the other has a plastic hinge - no, they don't interchange.

If it's a Ventline with a metal hinge, it's #BV0554-01 for the white lid or #BV0554-03 for the dark tinted lid.

The plastic hinge is #BVD0449-A01 for the white lid and the tinted one is #BVD0449-A03.

The lids rot out from age and UV damage. If you have more than one, change all of them while you're up there.

Read the instructions. On the metal hinged ones, BEFORE YOU GO UP ON THE ROOF you have take the inside screens off and take the two screws out of the vent mechanism that raises the lid. For this you need a square drive bit. Leave the mechanism hanging there, go up on the roof with a flat tip screw driver and a pair of needle nose pliers. you need to bend the hinge clip out of the way on one side or the other of the hinge. Then slide the hinge lever down to the round key way and remove it from the lid. Watch out, there' a keeper clip that you can drop down inside of the TT. Then just reverse things.

I believe the lids are available from Amazon if you don't want to drive to go get them.

  • I had to change mine out on my Puma about two years ago....when I had the chance I bought a spare one. The sun is bad on them...mine was all brittle. They take a little to change them out..I know I picked up a few things when I first did mine.
  • Yup. Hail can really do a job on vent covers. We went to Minnesota a few years back with our TT and got hammered by quarter-sized hail. I ended up having to replace my bathroom vent. Hope you get things taken care of without any hassle.
  • Thank you for the replies, Bill(Trackrig)thank you for the brand name along with the model numbers. I was able to get on the roof to cover the vent with tape just in case it rained (which it's doing as I type) before I could get a new vent installed. Will check Camping World to see if they carry Ventline, if not hello Amazon Prime.
