Back as newbies with our '07 HTT, this question came along pretty often. Numerous posts on Hybrid Explorer strongly recommended against leaving any windows or vents open as you'll end up with a coating of road grime everywhere. Don't know if that's true or not, but we've never left anything open. Just personal preference.
