I have experienced the dusting and for this reason I keep vents closed when Traveling.
The dusting does not occur every trip.I imagine if you pass any active construction sites or drive through dusty air along the way you may end up with dust inside your RV.
I have Maxxair covers, but I have learned to close vents before hitting the road.
I also have an onboard genset. If we stop for lunch on a hot day the A/C will cool the rig to bearable pretty quick. I use the fantastic fan in the kitchen to exhaust the hot air while running the A/C via the LP genset.
