I typically close my roof vent but have forgot and left it open (with Maxx air cover)and I really dont notice much of a temp difference. On one of my last small trips (1.5 hrs) we forgot one of the large side windows open. I didn't notice much difference with the temp inside, and didn't experience much dust, but my trip was short and all pavement...
On our previous hybrid when I forgot the roof vent open, I noticed the layer of cushion floor would have lifted up a little when I opened the trailer up. It was likely an issue with the floor not being glued down correctly but since it only happened with the vent open it was testament that there was some pressure difference in the trailer with it open.
Anyway, for these reasons, we leave ours closed since there are little cooling benefits and avoids any issues...
