  • No. I checked out their web site: Click here.

    They are located in Indiana:

    0985 North, 900 West
    Shipshewana, IN 46565

I looked this up on Google Maps to see just where it was located. I was pleasantly surprised, because they are located directly across the road from the KZ RV manufacturing headquarters and plant which makes me wonder if they are part of K-Z?

So I looked up KZ also. Here's there address:
    K.Z., Inc.
    985 N 900 W Shipshewana, IN 46565

So you know what? It sounds to me like both brands of trailer are manufactured at the same place.

I looked up the address on Google Maps, and there are 2 sets of buildings, one on each side of the road.

We were actually there last May. I have photos, but I can't get them posted to my photo site right now.

But having been there, not realizing this was also Venture RV, I would say, it's probably a pretty decent camper.

The factory is in the country, it was very neat and clean there. Dutchmen RV was just down the road from them.

Maybe someone can comment on KZ RV's???

Here's an article from Trailer Life Magazine: trailer life article - click here.
  • Venture RV is wholly owned offshoot of K-Z set up a few years ago to produce entry level trailers as an alternative to the much more costly Spree. I met a couple of the principals in the company a few years ago when they were touring a sample model Venture to dealers here in S Ontario but as a former Spree owner I wasn't particularly impressed with the budget level construction and decor. JMO.
  • The additional brand names gave KZ a larger dealer network and, I believe, that is the main reason you are seeing Venture and Sonic trailers.
  • I have looked at the Venture Sonic trailer several times in the past year.
The Sonic trailer is high on my list of candidates if/when we downsize in the future. I like the appointments on the inside, and the one piece fiberglass front/roof/back.

Here are some pictures of one I took at the RV show last year.
They also have other models, some with a slideout.

Good counter space and nice backsplash.

The bed folds down on top of the couch (Murphy bed?)

Roomy bathroom at the end of the trailer. It uses the whole width of the vehicle.

    Fairly roomy corner shower.
  • So a follow-up question to the Sonic. We are beginning our search and have a very particular weight to amenities list and the Sonic has risen to the top very quickly.
Being part of KZ (which is another brand I am not familiar with), the Sonic is impressive. the term "entry level trailer" caught me by surprise. is it entry because of the features (or lack there of) due to the weight of trailer?
KZ Spree Escape has a comparable model within the same weight. Is the Spree Escape considered entry level ??

Compared to a Lance or Airstream, yes these trailers don't stand in the same light.

Also, what is the overall perception of KZ in the RV market??

    Yes.

We owned a KZ Spree 240BH-LX for 6 years and at the time it was considered premium to the entry level KZ Sportsmen line. In later years the Sportsmen was upgraded & offered with differing trim levels while the Spree line was split into three groups - the entry level Spree Escape, the mid level Spree Connect, and the premium Spree which was reserved for larger models. Some KZ models carry a 1 yr warranty while others such as the Spree include a 2 yr. KZ used to be a privately held company but was bought out a couple of years ago by Thor so it's hard to say whether this is good or bad from the customer's perspective.
