They are probably just standard, inexpensive automotive size speakers (5 1/4 or 6 1/2). Pop the grill off one and remove it or measure it to be sure.
Most likely you could upgrade to something a little better, but doubtful you will find the clearance for the big magnet used on a real high quality speaker without crafting some sort of shim.
