- RelaxDaveExplorerI got one like this: High Accuracy 0.36" 5 Digits DC 0-33.000V
Very useful to compare power use of lights, etc. (It was obvious that the bed and stove lights weren't LED.) I put it where I could see it from the back window so I could make sure the battery was maintained (i.e. extension cord plugged in ok) when plugged in at home.
It was also interesting to see how my AGM batteries operate at several 10ths of a volt higher at respective discharge percentages than the previous flooded battery. - IBcarguyExplorerI installed one that I got on Amazon....digital read-out similar to the one's pictured above. Mine did't come with a switch so I installed a rocker switch so the red digital read-out wasn't on all the time. Easy, inexpensive project.

x2. There is also the Victron monitor. I have a Xantrex in my TC and a Victron in my RPod travel trailer. Both are great additions to monitor batteries. Both have a current shunt. Well worth it.
Victron Energy BMV 702 Precision Battery Monitor - Amp hour meter will be the best solution, which shows amp ours consumed, amps, volts.
Xantrex Link meters are awesome. - towproExplorerremember any time load changes you will see voltage change.
In order to see the true state of charge of a battery with just a volt meter you need to check voltage with no load.
In a camper you can never hit 0 load as there is always a couple things running like CO2 sensor, Propane sensor and Refrigerator eye brow board. this paristic load is over an amp at times. - RoyBExplorer IIAMAZON has a big supply of meter panels - I like the BLUE SEA small round meters on a panel something like this. Using the round meter components you can rotate them and mount your panel either vertical or horizontal...
I have a couple of these BLUE SEA panels in my OFF-ROAD POPUP and I use a ON-OFF SWITCH unit type panel to turn off the meters. They put out a very bright display when on... ALmost too bright for a nite lights haha...
You can get four position panels as well. Amazon will show all kinds of round meters and sockets you can use in these panels... Nice to have those cell phone and tablet chargers in two or three places in your camper..
Like TOM M above says Amazon also has the multi-function 2 X 3 inch DROK flat panels that has many features monitored. Those a pretty popular as well. All inexpensive...
Roy Ken - Tom_M1ExplorerAn Amazon search for "DC volt meter" will find many meters. The simplest would be one that plugs into a cigarette lighter socket.
DC volt panel meters
A multi function meter that displays both volts and amps is a good choice. This typically requires the addition of a shunt in the battery line. It's best to have an amp meter that will display charge or discharge current. The cheaper meters typically only display current for one direction.
Here's one unit listed on Amazon:
DROK DC 0-120V 0-100A Digital Multimeter - towproExplorerAre you looking for just something to show you volts, or a meter that shows you volts, load, % discharged, etc?
I have used Bogart Engineering TM-2030-RV in my last 2 pickup campers. I also use there solar controller.
The TM-2030, including battery shunt will run you around $175.00.
I recommend the 500A shunt.
