I agree with the positive comments here on the GM 6.0 gasser. A great proven, reliable engine with plenty of power.
My experience is with a 2012 with a 6 speed trans and 3.73 gears with a pop up camper mounted full time weighing about a ton fully loaded. I am in the Colorado Rockies with roads and passes up to 14,000' and I am impressed with the the power train. I can pull the I-70 Ike gauntlet above the speed limit and pass at will. Have read that the 6 speed is a big improvement over the 4 speed auto. My mileage, loaded, has ranged from 11 to a best ever of 15....depends upon my "pass at will" mode of driving.
No issues what so ever with the truck or camper....very happy with my purchase.
