Both will do the job. Hemi will do it better.

From the recent reviews, I don't think it matters so much. I'm partial to the Ram, because it has a larger backseat in the crew cab and I've had both GMC and Ram crew cabs.

Not true and I am happy with my truck. I live in the Pacnorwest and tow with the same truck over some big passes at a similar weight. If you are not worried about MPG let it sign and it does just fine.

In regards to OPs question. I am GM guy but my BIL just bought a 6.4 Dodge. Very nice truck and pulls very good. Wish my truck had at least a 6 speed, but it is paid for... :) If I were looking for a new 3/4 ton or up gasser I would seriously consider any of the Big 3. At any rate. I don't think you can go wrong with either of trucks you are looking at.

I have the 5.7l Hemi in the 2014 2500. Price was too good to pass up. It tows my 35.5 ft Surveyor with ease at 8,300-ish lbs

go with the one you like driving: pretty much any truck can tow a couple of times a year.

I've had both. Get the one you like best. No difference in towing between either imo.

I love my GM 6.0L. It's dead reliable. It uses about 15% less fuel than my prior half ton. 14mpg in mixed daily commuting, 18mpg highway, and 8mpg towing. And it has plenty of power especially when it wakes up over 3000rpm when requested yet cruises at 2200rp, when towing. I would not have a problem with any of the current gassers.
