Well I'm heading to the Honda store on Monday;)

I personally always wondered why composite beds never made it much further than they are now. Ford was first with the Explorer Sport Trac sporting the plastic bed. Then Toyota in the tacoma had that, and now Honda. For all the 5th wheel and goose neck folks, just keep the steel under the bed with some hard points for that stuff, like the puck systems out there today in all big 3's. I wonder if there are durability issues beyond the first 5 or 10 years? Oh well, I just think Composite interior beds would just be better all the way around.

I would like to see the mold and molding machine for that bed. It has to be huge!!

I went with a composite lawnmower deck last time around, instead of a steel one. So far so good! I know of a few folks with the plastic boards that are around 1" thick on flat beds. Lighter, stronger than wood, along with steel. I wish I could have pulled that off a bit earlier today. But had to go with 2" T&G as always. BUT, drop a few rocks that are in the 50-70 lbs range from the same height, NOW see how well that bed works. I have also seen some BIG dump truck beds made of a plastic composite bed. No issues with them making 4-6 trips loads a day at a local topsoil, bark etc supplier.MartyMarty

My folks 2010 Ridgeline looks brand new, but they take really good care of it, and it's parked in a garage, and it has a back flip...

Glad you said that, cuz I was going to ask as I thought GM offered them, but couldn't remember when. Touted the same advantage as Honda.

As a tractor owner the only thing I noticed was that idiot walking under the bucket of the skid steer while they were unloading the blocks. Big time safety no no!

I saw the ford video posted here the other day and I still conder how they can install a 5th wheel hitch in it and tow a 5th wheel.

LOL, but I was actually waiting to see if they'd bounce one of those blocks through the back cab window of the truck.
