Walking on TT roof

I was on a ladder inspecting my TT roof and could reach most of the vents etc. However, I could not begin to check the air conditioner.

The question is, should I take any precautions such as putting down rugs and such before I step on the roof? It is a 26 foot Dutchmen with an EPDM roof.
  • I have always walked on the roofs of the five RVs we have had but I am only 130 lbs. If I am going to do extended work I take a piece of plywood to sit on to spread the weight over a big area.

You should do what I did, and call Dutchman, and ask them. I was told I could walk on the Roof of my Apex to clean, and do maintaince, but not do much of anything else.
Not all roofs are full walk on. If there is a factory ladder. It usually is.

I agree, call Dutchman. I do not have a ladder on my new Cruiser RV Enterra but my manual states that I can walk on the roof for maintenance.

My roof is a barreled roof (dome) and as such the manufacturer did not offer an attached ladder as a cya measure even though they say it's 'walkable' in their manual.
  • My roof is 3/8" plywood and requires caution. I don't actually walk on it but will lay and sit on it to do maintenance work.
