My local Walmart told me that they do not even own or control the parking lot directly. That is why they allow overnight trucks but not RV's. The abuse that I see when traveling convinces me that it is just a matter of time before other lots become unavailable. Long term parking, slides out, trash, all contribute to our image and it is not a pretty one.
Roger That......Sad the way some behave now....Lack of Character.
These are not the people who traditionally used Walmart or places like the slabs. From what I have seen in my travels this is what I would describe as the next layer of homeless people who have enough resources to be mobile. This isn't a criticism of them and they all are not bad people. They range from good people with bad luck to crack and meth heads. They can talk low inflation or a great stock market all they want but life and housing affordability and good paying jobs in the USA are not working out well for everyone.
After dirt biking in Northern Mich for 55 years and visiting again this summer I have now started running across dispersed camping areas that are completely trashed. A DNR officer stopped me when I rode back to the river where this FW has been for months.

DNR said he was looking for the owner. I have been in there a few times in the last month and people are there so the DNR gave up or something. They are using the bushes along the river as their toilet. I didn't see a blue tote anywhere and the rig is packed with junk under it so it doesn't move.
A few miles downstream from there I noticed iirc a van and a car parked at this place along with a tent by the river a week or more ago. I have been by there a couple times and they are gone.

At least they used a bucket but it would be nice if they had taken it with them

This just may be a little over kill for hanging something on a tree, not that you are allowed to.

I ran into a young couple this summer in the same area that flagged me down to beg for money. They were broke down in the woods with a blah blah blah story. I told them I dont carry my wallet while dirt riding but I'd be back shortly. Last summer I pulled a ratty old C out of a mud hole in the same area because I ride there all the time. These are the people who are ruining it for the rest of us but isn't that how it always goes? I'd take my trailer over there and clean it up but on second thought I hope they close it. RV'ers cant use it so urinate on them and force them into the state park. I usually ride with a trash bag and pick stuff up and dump it at the DNR office but this is too much.
If you want to see the ultimate dirt bag sheet hole drive through the slabs, NO I didn't say camp there, I said drive through. You will see more and more Walmart closing over nighting then it will move to the next place like Home Depot or whatever.
There are people on Youtube who push books and encourage others to join the carefree mobile lifestyle and
Disability is probably how a good number of them are now doing it.
