Want USA made tires

Just put on a set of Kuhmo Radial 857's. Sidewall says they're made in Vietnam. Just got back from a 2000 mile trip to Colorado and was VERY pleased with how the trailer handled with the new tires.

I bought a set of Maxxis that are made in South Carolina. I asked my tire dealer for Maxxis, US made and fresh. He got them as ordered. Wonderful tires.

I ordered in my Maxxis from discount tire. I have loved them ever since.

Just a few years back all ST tires were made in the USA... and the general trailering public still had the same issues with them. Lots of new folks the last 6-8-10 years in the trailer pulling arena (including RVs) so china gets the blame now days.

Kumho makes a 857 commercial grade all position rib tire in a 205R14C at 2271 lbs at 65 psi if your not wanting another ST tire. These tire have been out for a few years and have a excellent record with trailer users of all types especially folks that are on the interstates at normal speeds.

I had my local Discount Tire order the Maxxis 8008. I also purchased the slightly larger/higher load 215/70R14.

Carlisle ST are made in the USA. They were made overseas for a short period of time, but are back in the states now.

We have decided on the Maxxis which we can purchase locally. Didn't think we could find them close by at first, but through perserverance, we are able to purchase for a good price.

To date, I've been happy with my Maxxis. They were mounted a year ago this time, and I've put over 10K miles so far. Last fall football tailgating, plus a 7900 mile trip to Los Angeles and back.

So far they look new. Tread still looks perfect. I did get the metal valve stems.

I was planning on replacing the original GF Marathons with another set, but the tire guy was able to put on a set of 4 Maxxis for a little less.

My tires are Maxxis M8008 ST205/75R 14's.

Tire Rack has the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO LT195/75r14. Also check out some of the "rib" or "cargo" tires made by Michelin, Goodyear, or Continental. I purchased the Goodyear Cargo G26 195/70r15 for our tt. Replaced the st205/75r15 chinese bombs. I needed a tire that could take the 115-120 degree heat of the southwest. Been happy with these tires so far at 3000 miles on them.

I dunno', if you want a good wool sweater, the best come out of Europe where the sheep are. Probably the same thing with tires, most of the good rubber is in the Far East.
